Jiaru Wang (Lucas) graduated from Graphic and Media Design, the University of the Arts London (London Collage of Communication). Currently studing at Visual communication in Royal Collage at Art, primarily engaged in Visual communication, as well as exploring Mixed-media.

I am passionate about using visual language to simplify complex messages and transform abstract concepts into clear, impactful designs. In both branding and digital media, I strive to produce work that resonates deeply with audiences.

In this highly digital age, the relationship between people and mobile phones is becoming increasingly close and has become an extension of our lives. What will it look like if humans and mobile phones can be fully integrated in the future? In order to better reflect the real and delicate motion effects, I used Runway as the motion rendering software, connected 3D renderings, and explored the possible forms of this close connection, aiming to explore the future development direction of the relationship between technology and humans.

在这个高度数字化的时代,人与手机的关系日益紧密,并已成为我们生活的延伸。如果未来人类与手机能够完全融合,会呈现出怎样的景象?为了更好的体现真实并且细腻的动效,我使用了Runway 作为动效渲染软件,连接3D 渲染图,探索这种紧密连接的可能表现形式,旨在探索科技与人类关系的未来发展方向。

In this project, I worked with the photography team HWANG BROZ and was responsible for the 3D motion design in the music video of rapper Liu Cong. After communicating with the team, my personal responsibilities focused on the 3D deformation and visual motion of the font logo and its implementation.

草台 Meconopsis(2024)

In this project, I created a new brand logo and visual system for the client Meconopsis(草台), conveying a balanced, natural, and free visual system. I also combined AIGC and 3D rendering technology to assist in visual output and abstract expression of brand element diagrams, gaining client recognition and producing extended vision.

Digital Construction Lab (2024)

In this project, I worked as an independent designer with the Digital Construction Lab (DC LAB) of University College London to create a comprehensive brand visual image and website presentation based on the client’s needs for simplicity and order. The letters DC combined with the concept of “connection” conveyed the four major R&D activities of Digital Construction Lab and extended the visual to subsequent activities.

Living in the Invisible (2024)

In contemporary society, the rapid development of technology has reshaped the way information is disseminated. As a key component of modern media consumption, streaming media has deeply influenced our daily lives. In this context, the role of advertising has become increasingly prominent. In order to explore this role of advertising, I created a 3D animation project called "Invisible", which redefines advertising as a commodity within the framework of consumerism by transforming it into an inflatable object. This project transforms traditional advertising into a series of interconnected commercial spaces through spatial models, reshaping the experience of online interaction through 3D images in a playful way.

在当代社会,技术的飞速发展重塑了信息传播的方式。流媒体作为现代媒体消费的关键组成部分,深入影响了我们的日常生活。在这一背景下,广告的作用日益凸显。为了探索广告的这一角色,我创造了一个名为“无形之中”的3D动画项目,通过将广告转化为充气物体,重新定义其为一种在消费主义框架内的商品。此项目通过空间模型将传统广告转化为一系列相互关联的商业空间,以一种玩趣的方式通过3D影像重塑网络互动的体验。

Inspired by the tranquil and symbolic verses of the Chinese poem 'On the Love of Lotus,' I have captured the characteristics of the lotus as depicted in traditional Chinese paintings and created a still life rendering.

    Day Dream (2023)

    "Have you ever experienced a sense of déjà vu, as if you've visited a place in reality that you've only seen in a dream?

    I once had a remarkably vivid dream, though only a few key elements lingered in my memory. Intriguingly, I discovered that many places I've visited in real life seem to overlap with scenes from that dream. As a result, I selected photos from three such places and blended them with elements from my dream. Through this visual art, I aim to map the inner world and explore the boundaries between reality and dreams."

    “你是否有过似曾相识的感觉,仿佛自己在现实中去过一个梦中才见过的地方?”

    我曾经做过一个非常逼真的梦,但只有几个关键元素留在了我的记忆中。有趣的是,我发现现实生活中我去过的许多地方似乎与梦中的场景重叠。因此,我选择了三个具有这样感觉的地点,并将它们与梦中的元素融合在一起,使用 3D 渲染探索现实与梦境之间的界限。

      Memory Palace is an experimental project that explores narrative restructuring, aims to show the nonlinear characteristics of memory, and also explores the potential application of new technologies in storytelling. By deconstructing personal memories, extracting keywords, inputting these keywords into AI software such as Mid-Journey to reconstruct the content, and using Blender for modeling and 3D animation to display these memories in the order of story development.

      “记忆宫殿”是一个探索叙事结构重组的实验项目,旨在展现记忆的非线性特征,同时也探索新技术在故事讲述中的潜在应用。通过解构个人记忆,提取关键词,将这些关键词输入到 Mid-Journey 等 AI 软件中重建内容,并使用 Blender 进行建模并制作 3D 动画,按照故事发展的顺序展示这些记忆。

      This project combines Figma and 3D rendering to interpret the potential causes of sea level rise in the past and the future. Through data visualization, it aims to raise awareness of the urgency of climate change and promote active participation in environmental protection actions.
